Who loves a success story?
Meet Tash – well, to be honest you probably already have. Tash is a regular contributor in our group, joining in on the daily threads regularly, and constantly putting up posts to try and motivate others to get started and kick some ass on their own journeys! She’s recently hit a pretty big milestone, and it’s with great pleasure that we’re announcing her our member of the month for December!
Tell me a bit about your background. What were the major motivators that inspired you to start your weight loss journey?
I’ve always struggled with my weight since being a kid. After having kids I yoyo’d with my weight. I’d get close and just give up. I needed to do this for my kids, I needed to be here for them. I sought help from my doctor who is the golden woman who introduced me to keto. My biggest motivator for not giving up was to show my kids anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and never give up.
Describe your ‘AHAH!’ Moment
The first 2 weeks were hard, detoxing from sugar, my ahah moment was when I realised how quickly I was getting full, and people starting to notice the change in me. Though it took longer for me to see it, everyone else noticed and it drove me to keep going.
What made you decide which lifestyle choice to follow?
What made me choose this lifestyle? It’s so easy!!! If only I knew how easy it was a long time ago my weight would of never gotten out of control. I love the food!! Meat and cheese are my 2 favourite foods, what’s not to love?!!!
What was your starting weight, and what is it now? How long have you got to go to reach your goal weight?
My starting weight was 105.7kgs. I now weigh 69.7kgs!! It has taken me just under 8 months to reach and pass my goal weight which was 70kgs. I started out a size 20 and now a comfortable size 12.
Wow!!! How did you feel day to day before you changed your lifestyle? And How do you feel now day to day?
I couldn’t bring myself to look at myself in the mirror. If I had to check anything it would just be my face but I wouldn’t look down. I would cry and feel disgusted all the time. I used my dad’s death 3 years ago as an excuse for too long. I knew my dad would want me to be happy and healthy. Now I can’t stop looking at myself. I love seeing the changes, I love comparing old pics to now pics, I finally love me!!
What is your advice for anyone wishing to shed the weight?
My advice is don’t give up and don’t give into temptations. My new motto is I want a hot body more than I want hot chips. And after nearly 8 months I finally got it. Keep it simple. Don’t complicate things, this is the easiest thing I have ever done. If I can do it, (the biggest chocolate and cake/dessert eater) anyone can!! Believe in yourself!!!
Thanks for the chat Tash! It’s been wonderful watching your transformation and having you be an active part of the group! Your results are a testament to what a bit of hard work and some good food can do in such a short period of time, Bravo!
